Position on the Board: Director
How did you get started in the fastener industry?
We are a family business, so I started coming in on weekends when I was young to help my dad. Really I was just getting in the way. When I was in school I would work in the summer.
What is the best advice you ever got?
You have to work harder than everyone else; you are the boss' son. You need to be the first one to work and the last one to leave.
Do you have a personal goal for 2020?
If you had asked me four months ago, I’d say to build on the successes of 2019, moving our plating operations, and rolling out a new computer system. Now it's just to survive and keep everyone working and healthy.
What inspires you?
Watching our people and business succeed and improve, and giving back to the people and community that have been good to us.
When you were a child, what did you want to be as a grown-up?
Not sure, maybe a fireman!
What do you do when you're not at work?
I work on our farm and spend time with my three kids, who are all under the age of six!
What is your favorite vacation destination?
We took the kids to Disneyland in February, which was a lot of fun. I also enjoy any beach and sunny weather!
What TV show did you binge most recently?
I don't watch much TV, but if I do it's at night after working on the farm or my shop. I tend to fall asleep 10 minutes into a show, so it takes four or five nights to get through a one-hour episode.
Who is your favorite singer or group?
It changes all the time, but currently, I'm listening to Kenny Chesney, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and the Lumineers.
Do you have a personal message you'd like to share?
2020 has been a tough year, but things will get better!
