NAW Update on Regulatory Activity

A Message From Jade West, Senior Vice President-Government Relations
National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors

After years of reporting on the aggressive anti-business regulatory agenda coming out of Washington, D.C., we are happy to be reporting on the roll-back of regulations that has been undertaken by Congress and the Trump Administration, and what remains to be done.

While it takes time to unravel or repeal regulations, and in some cases changing an existing rule will require an entire new rule-making which can take months to complete, both Congress and the Trump Administration have acted quickly to begin the process of lightening the regulatory burden on your companies.

Congress has already passed two binding resolutions repealing regulations, has three more repeal resolutions teed up, and there are more to come.  And the Administration has issued a number of Executive Orders and Memoranda that put the brakes on new rulemaking and begin the process of reviewing existing regulations.

In the unfinished business category, the President’s nominee to be Secretary of Labor has not been confirmed – and you can help on this by making a quick phone call.  Details are included in our update.

And new nominees to change the majority on the National Labor Relations Board are needed ASAP, but are not yet in the pipeline.

Please read our report on these regulatory issues and activities.  Go to:

We will continue to keep you updated as Congress and the Administration move forward.
