12-12-12 - ‘Vegas Expo Announces Addition of Treasure Island to Official Hotel List
Treasure Island has been added to the list of Official Hotels for the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo, October 23-25, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada, it was announced today by Susan A. Hurley, Expo General Manager.

10-16-12 - ‘Vegas Fastener Expo Reports Registration Gain: Happy Exhibitors
Registration for the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo held October 10-12 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada USA was up from the previous year, it was announced today by Expo management.
Final figures released this afternoon show that the Expo had 4,246 registrants from throughout the USA and 39 foreign countries worldwide. Fastener distributors led the way with 1,260 registrants.
“We received many compliments on the quality of the Expo from exhibitors and attendees alike, and many companies indicated they would be returning next year with even larger exhibits”, informs Susan Hurley, the Expo’s General Manager.
A complete list of all Expo registrants is being sent today to every exhibiting company for immediate follow-up on the sales leads and contacts generated by the Expo. “This is the primary reason we moved the Expo to earlier dates. Exhibitors now have more time to turn leads into sales well before the holiday season”, say Jim Bannister and Mike McGuire, the Expo’s General Partners.
The 2013 Expo is set for October 23-25 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

10-5-11 - NLRB Notice Posting Deadline Extended
From the National Association of Wholesaler Distributors:
As you all know, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has recently issued a final rule requiring all businesses covered by the National Labor Relations Act to post a "Notice of Employee Rights under the National Labor Relations Act” in their workplace, with a posting deadline of November 14th. At least three complaints have been filed in court challenging the rule – two in the District of Columbia and one in South Carolina. NAW joined the complaint filed by the National Association of Manufacturers and the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace.
The organizations challenging the new rule filed motions with the court asking that the judge issue a preliminary injunction preventing the Board from implementing the posting requirement while the cases are pending. At a conference in court on Monday of this week, the judge suggested to the Board that they extend the posting deadline so that she would not need to rule on the preliminary injunction motions, and the parties could move directly to motions for summary judgment.
In a conference call with the judge and attorneys today, the NLRB announced that they have postponed the deadline for the Notice posting to January 31, 2012. In their public announcement of the postponement, the Board said they extended the deadline to "allow for enhanced education and outreach to employers, particularly those who operate small and medium sized businesses.” It is pretty clear that they in fact postponed the deadline in response to the judge’s suggestion and to avoid her granting a preliminary injunction. Whatever their reason, we welcome the postponement so that the legal challenges to the rule have time to move through the courts before anyone has to post a notice.
The attorneys will now prepare briefs on their motions for summary judgment, and are today working out a briefing schedule. We will keep you updated as the challenges move forward.

On Friday, July 22 we’ll be at Los Alamitos Race Course for heart pounding, action packed racing featuring the fastest horses in the world, Quarter Horses.
Our group will be on the outdoor Vista Terrace overlooking the finish line: a great place to enjoy a summer evening with fastener friends.
Bet on the ponies or just enjoy the beauty and ability of these magnificent animals. Gambling is not required to have fun at this event! Plus six lucky Pac-West members will get their picture taken in the winner’s circle!
Your registration fee ($50) includes admission and a buffet dinner. General parking is free; preferred parking is $5.

4-24-09 - Pac-West Confirms 2009 and 2010 Conference Locations and Dates
The 2009 Fall Conference will take place October 15-17 at the Miramonte Resort in Indian Wells, California.
The 2010 Spring Conference will take place in San Diego, California. The date and venue will be announced in May.
The 2010 Fall Conference is scheduled for October 7-10 at the Resort at Squaw Creek, in the Lake Tahoe area.
